Why the GI-MAP?
(aka Testing Your Poop)
For over a decade, I struggled with cystic acne and digestive issues—even though I ate clean, worked out consistently, and followed all the “healthy” rules. It felt like nothing worked… until I ran a GI-MAP stool test.
Here’s what I discovered from just one test:
- Dysbiosis: My gut had too few good bacteria and too many opportunistic ones. Clinically, this meant I wasn’t digesting my food properly, leading to nutrient deficiencies—a huge contributor to acne.
- Protein Malabsorption: Despite eating 130–140g of protein daily as a fitness enthusiast, I wasn’t breaking it down efficiently. Protein putrefaction created toxins, increased inflammation, burdened my liver, and worsened my acne.
- Weakened Immunity (Low SigA): Years of antibiotics, birth control, and Accutane left my immune defenses low, allowing pathogens like H. pylori and E. coli to take hold in my microbiome.
- Digestive Distress: H. pylori contributed to bloating, constipation, and other gut symptoms I’d struggled with for years.
All of this, from a single stool test.
This is why I consider the GI-MAP foundational: it uncovers hidden stressors that often go unnoticed but have a huge impact on chronic inflammation, skin issues, digestive struggles, and overall health. For my clients, it’s often the missing link that finally connects the dots in their health puzzle.
